Diamond crystal is a three-dimensional network of carbon atoms. All carbon atoms in the network are strongly bonded by carbon-carbon covalent bonds.
Dry Ice is the common name for solid carbon dioxide (CO2).
It does not melt into a liquid when heated; instead, it changes directly into a gas (This process is known as sublimation). Note: dry ice has a surface temperature of -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit (-78.5 degrees C). The super-cold surface temperature can easily damage our skin if we touch it directly. Applications: Due to its extremely low temperature of -78°, dry ice is often used as an alternative to refrigeration for foodstuffs and medical supplies. In addition, special dry ice pellets are used for industrial cleaning. |
